Law of Attraction
and
Your Destiny
By Dr. RG
Williams
How many of us have had a door close just as we thought the
path ahead was clear? Or maybe the door closed in front of us just as we thought the path was
secure and we're safe.
Closed doors come in many different disguises, a divorce, loss of a job, loss of a loved one, car
accident, illness, or a drop in income, end of a relationship, job transfer and the list goes on
and on.
Maybe you have looked at others and thought, “Why are they so successful?”, “Why are people
attracted to her?”, “I work as hard as she does, but she gets all the breaks!”, “Why does this
happen to me?”, “How come others get ahead and I don’t?”, “When is it my turn?”
Maybe you are at a point in your life where you are asking yourself “Who am I really?”, “What makes
me different?”, “Why do I do what I do, act the way I act?”, “What is stopping me from
succeeding?”, or “What drives me to succeed?”
When you start asking yourself these questions, you must spend the time to discover the answers and
uncover who you really are. Once you do that you will discover what your true destiny is and how to
open it to achieve everything you can imagine. It will be like looking through new glasses at a
world you never knew existed.
The best place to find these answers and many, many more is not looking outside of you, but to look
inside. So many are concerned with cleaning up the outside and avoid or ignore the inside.
What does it mean to stop looking outside of you and start looking inside? Let’s break it down for
a better understanding.
When we arrive on this planet we are 100% dependent upon those who care for us. As we grow we
develop who we are based on what we are taught and what we see others do. We are not taught how to
take the time to develop our own personality, our own vision, and our own way. Most of our parents
shared with us things they learned from their parents and what they learned throughout their lives.
For generations the same things are taught never stopping to think about whether they are correct,
the best or event the truth.
I am reminded of the story of the young girl who is watching her mom prepare a ham for dinner. Her
mom pulls out the ham, cuts off a portion from each end, covers it in a brown sugar mixture for
flavor, puts it in a pan and then into the oven. The young girl asks her mom why she cut off the
ends of the ham. Her mother replies “that is how my mom did it.” As luck would have it, this was a
family gathering and grandma was visiting. So the young girl asked grandma the same question,
“Grandma, why do you cut the ends off of the ham before you cook it?” Grandma smiled and said
“because my pan was always too small for the size of the ham!” A very simple answer, the pan was
too small - so grandma made the ham smaller to fit the pan! What the young girl’s mom interpreted
to be the secret to her mom’s tasty ham, cutting off the ends, had nothing to do with the truth.
Yet that custom had been transferred down from one generation without explanation and had the young
girl not questioned her mom and grandmother, it would have been transferred down through a second
generation.
So you see it is possible that not everything that makes us who we are is made up of complete
truth. That does not mean we were lied to it simply means that what was learned and what was taught
can have completely different meanings and outcomes.
We are all born with the abilities to learn and grow and at a very early age we begin to understand
the power of action and response. As a newborn we cry and our loved ones respond and take care of
us. As we grow we begin to understand that our lives are made up of a trial and error process. In
the early stages we hear sounds and attempt to mimic those sounds which receive reinforcement to
help us form our speech with beginning words, mom, dad, etc. Then we attempt crawling and then
walking.
When we are encouraged at each attempt, we continue to repeat the performance. During the early
informative years, we must rely upon our parent, teachers and peers to provide us with
encouragement and reward.
What is great about youth is when one does not receive that stimulus from one area we seek out the
place where we will receive the positive reinforcement.
As each of us receives encouragement for any performance we repeat the performance and strive to
improve that performance so we can receive more encouragement. We even search out positive
encouragement from multiple places so we might be able to continue this performance.
In other words, when our minds are encouraged and rewarded for a certain performance, we strive to
repeat that performance. This, in return receives more encouragement and more reward. From this
encouragement abilities begin to strengthen and flourish and talents rise to the surface. As
abilities strengthen and talents rise, we develop our self-esteem.
Self-esteem is tied to your inner belief system. It is related to your self-worth, your self-value,
your self-respect and your self-confidence. Self-esteem is the foundation which serves you your
entire life. This is what is known as an upward spiral towards a very prosperous life.
The upward spiral is the key process to building a very healthy self-image, and a very healthy you.
It is the key to understanding your destiny.
As adults we have the capability to listen, learn and process information. We have the power within
the brain to both store that information for future use and only retain those things that work to
build us, and to discard those things that can destroy us completely.
Each of us was blessed with that power from birth. No one can take that power away from you, unless
you give it away. Did you catch that? No one can take that power away, unless you give it away!
I continually hear the statement “he, she or you, hurt my feelings...” No one can hurt your
feelings unless you allow them to or give them permission to! They are your feelings and you have
the power to stay in control.
This might be a new concept for you or maybe you have heard it before, either way it is absolutely
critical for you to pay attention to your inner voice so as to be able to harness your personal
power from within.
Learning to harness the power to control you thoughts, feelings, emotions and what you attract into
your life, gives you the ability to navigate through the information that is encountered minute by
minute and identify what is worth keeping and filing away and what is garbage and must be
discarded.
To understand how to harness the power to control your thoughts, feelings and emotions is a mater
of understanding how the mind works. Think of the mind as a super-computer. You have an unlimited
storage capacity hard drive, which allows you to store your files for as long as you choose to keep
them. This is the subconscious or super-conscious, your power within.
The beauty of all of this is you do not need to acquire this power, you already posses it! It is up
to you to learn how to use it and understand it, so you can harness it in all areas of your
life.
Once you learn to harness and release the power of your super-conscious mind, you bring into your
life more control, power, wealth, health, riches, happiness, joy and peace! Within your
super-conscious lie infinite wisdom, infinite power and infinite supply of what you need at any
given time. It is waiting for your to give it life and set it free!
The Law of Attraction is in constant motion and moving into your life that which you think about
and focus on the most. However, what most people neglect is the most critical piece and that is
understanding what your past programs are and how they interact with your current level of
being.
You are who you are because of past thinking and programming. What you are attracting into your
life is supporting that thinking.
Can you change what you are attracting simply by changing what you are thinking?
Absolutely! That is the simply yet incredible power that you have within! The power to change
everything at any given moment. You are born with this power and now as an adult, having the
ability to process and understand what you are processing you possess the power to change your
programming and most importantly your thoughts in an instant.
Changing your programming is similar to changing a station on the television set. You are watching
a program and feel that it is not doing anything for you so you change it. Immediately you are
watching a different program. The previous program is not playing in the background or overlaid on
the new program, it is on another channel.
So changing your program needs to be as complete as changing your television channel. Once you make
your mind up to change - picking up the remote - push the buttons and change the channel! The
difference within you must be that you never hit the “previous channel” button and return. Make the
decision to change an un-welcomed channel and never return to it.
Once you have made the change, your focus and attention will change automatically. Think of it this
way, you are watching a Horror channel and images of evil, monsters, etc. are all around, which are
giving you the chills and uncomfortable feelings. You change the channel and now you are watching a
cooking channel on how to bake chocolate chip cookies! Different focus, different attention,
different emotions and different feelings.
Once your focus and attention change you begin to attract new into your life. I bet that when you
watch a cooking channel about chocolate chip cookies you could actually smell them baking and even
get your mouth to water and your stomach to growl! You have the power within to create it all. (You
probably could smell and taste the cookies while reading these words!)
The Law of Attraction is a very powerful tool and you must understand your past programming, your
internal thinking, your future and what you want for your destiny in order to correctly harness the
law of Attraction in your life.
